First Stop: Amarillo

It took us about 5 1/2 hours to get to Amarillo from Sanger. It was an overnight stay but still, the Oasis RV Park was awesome! Concrete, level, pull through sites with a pool and playground that the kids loved. It was really hot of course but that’s West Texas in June for you!

We ate dinner at the Big Texan Steak House and we all had really good meals. EJ even finished my filet for me! It was touristy but it was a fun spot that’s worth the time and money I think.

We went back home and waited until sunset to hit Cadillac Ranch which is right next to the RV park. There was still a lot of people there but we waited and were able to get some good pics without too many other people in the shot. It’s a pretty weird piece of art in the middle of nowhere and that’s what makes it cool.

Perfect first day of traveling…onto New Mexico!
