We drove into Houston and boondocked in a Cracker Barrel parking lot for day 43 and then drove into NOLA! I’ve never been to NOLA and we stayed about 15 minutes away at Bayou Segnette State Park. Nice park on the bayou, not a lot of amenities. The pool they had was only open on the weekends so we couldn’t take advantage of that and the kids were bummed.
We did the French Quarter the next morning and it was really cool walking around that city. Loved the architecture, music and fun shops we found. And of course we loved the beignets!
We rode a street car for just a little bit (we didn’t know what we were doing so it was really short and at the end of the line). We ate at an awesome creole restaurant and then headed to one of the cool cemeteries. So cool seeing such old headstones!
Then, we went back to the RV for dinner and headed to our Gator tour. So fun driving through the swamp! Can’t believe there are people that live back there and drive in on the boats. No thanks!
We are huge Florida Gator fans so it was so cool being so close to gators. Go Gators! Chomp Chomp! Football starts soon and we are so excited!
Really liked NOLA, I’d like to go back sans kids! One day…
